Illawarra Group Training (IGT) is regarded as the regions leading Group Training Company. Established in 1985 the core business of IGT is the selection, induction and employment of Apprentices and Trainees and their placement with selected Host Employers.

 

IGT manages the employment of in excess of 330 Apprentices and Trainees across the Illawarra region located from Bulli in the North to Kiama regions in the South.

 

 

Group Training Companies employ Apprentices and Trainees and then places them with ‘Host Employers.’ This arrangement frees the Host Employer from the burden of paperwork, payroll, as well as providing a safety net for the Apprentice or Trainee who is assured of continuous work and training. 

 

 

The wellbeing of Trainees and Apprentices in the workplace is of paramount importance to IGT. We undertake health and safety audits of all Host Employers at no cost to them and where needed provide ongoing support to assist the implementation of changes that enhance workplace safety. During induction of Apprentices and Trainees OH&S is a priority, ensuring that when they commence their employment with a Host Employer they are safety conscious and ready to work.
